Anew Birth Now was founded with the intention of providing women and their partners with reliable birth labor support. I believe that every woman deserves to know that they have someone exclusively dedicated to providing them with companionship, comfort and emotional support during labor. My sole purpose as a Doula is to provide that support with care, nuturance and consistency.
A Doula is a woman who "pampers" the mother. She is also there to support the partner in his role, ensuring that he is as involved in the birth as he is comfortable with. Regardless of the birth experience you intend to have, be it in a hospital, birth center or at home, I will share with you my knowledge of birth, help with a birth plan if desired, ensure that your wishes are carried out and offer unlimited support before and after the birth. This is a service you and your partner are sure to appreciate!
Research has shown that Birth Doulas have a positive impact on birth outcomes. Women supporting women during childbirth is a normal practice in most countries and is increasing steadily in popularity in the United States due to the many benefits derived by both mother and baby. Having a Doula at your birth is a cost effective way to ensure that you are always being provided with consistent care and kept informed of what is happening by someone you trust and have chosen to assist you during one of your most memorable life events.

Definition of a Doula Doula is a Greek word used to refer to a "woman of service". She is a non-medical labor assistant who uses massage, aromatherapy, reflexology and positioning to attend to the emotional and physical comfort needs of the mother in order to facilitate labor and a better birth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doula |
